We managed to reproduce this internally and are looking into the issue to see whether it's to be expected or an anomaly. One way or another it will take some time before more information is on the table, so if the current consumption you're currently seeing is out of your acceptable range I suggest looking into alternatives.

There are still internal discussions. My understanding is that there is nothing in NCS causing this, as the current consumption looks similar in a bare-metal implementation. I guess that is the current status.

There is still a discussion in an internal ticket that I created based on this point. Still ongoing testing. I will get back to you with updates as soon as I have a less diffuse idea on what's going on.

Indeed, I had to add the configuration in the Kconfig of the soc.

Sorry for forgetting to mention that.

As for the version, I don't have the board right now. From what I remember, we bought the board months ago, so I guess this is the Engineering rev A version of the nRF5340 mounted on this board.

Is there no white sticker on the large chip "in the middle"?

By the way, when you built this sample, did you have to modify the NCS? I couldn't build it without adding the peripheral manually in the file zephyr\soc\arm\nordic_nrf\nrf53\Kconfig.soc:

If you didn't, how do you compile your project?

We are indeed using the nRF5340 PDK.

I can't find a more specific version printed on the PCB.

I have done the same measurements as you have done, and I see the same behavior. I don't why this is happening. I will try to speed up the process to figure out why it is drawing so much power. I agree that it is more than the expected amount.

Just while I ask around. Are you using a DK? If so, what version do you have? (I am testing on a 0.10.0 version).

As said, I can measure an increase of 140µA when enabling LPCOMP, which seems like a lot.

What current consumption do you see on the LPCOMP? Can you please share the project that you use to measure the current consumption (the one containing the #if condition)? So that I can easily reproduce this and measure it?
