&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;When testing, we have seen data rates of ~300kb/s, which I believe should be enough to do voice over IP.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;But, it is not really the use case the nRF9160 was designed for, so I don&amp;#39;t know how well it will work.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;Here I really do not have enough experience to give you a good answer. It sounds optimisic to me, but it might be possible. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The nRF9160 does have the DSP extension to the Cortex-M33 CPU, which probably will help.&lt;/p&gt;
