Close this case on my end. I updated my machine to Win 10 to solve the issue.

Is migrating to Windows 10 an acceptable solution for you? I believe Nordic will stop supporting Windows 7 at some point, if it hasn't already happened.

Hi Hakon,

I ran nrfjprog --recover and I still get the same error "Error while getting readback protection" on nRF Connect V3.6.0.

At least with this 3.6.0 version the board is recognized. I updated back to nRFConnect V3.6.1 and I cant get past Using nrfjprogr library 1012, pc-nrfjprog-js 1.76. The log is back to "Unsupported device".

Note that I can run nrfjprog -f NRF91 --memrd 0 --n 1000 and this works fine.

It seems the nrfjprog tools work fine but the problem is nRF Connect has an issue with Windows 7. I ran the same kit on a Win 10 machine without a problem.

Hey,

can you check if running nrfjprog --recover fixes the issue? Do you run into the same problem on newer Windows versions or other OS'es?

Update: Reverting to RF Connect V3.6.0 from 3.6.1 allows the programmer to function somewhat. I can now connect, read the segger serial, clock speed, model:NRF9160_xxAA_REV2, but I get an error right after that. "Error while getting readback protection"
