Unfortunately, I didn't get very far with it. I know that the Nordic team was looking into it more. You may want to update to the latest NCS and see if that makes a difference.

Hi Jared, I'm running into the same problem. Did you come up with a better solution than having to patch ncs as suggested in the other thread?

Hi,

I remember having that problem aswell and I'm not sure but, I think i worked around it by creating a settings partition and letting the settings subsystem use the default solution and only use littleFS for "regular" storage.

Did this resolve the issue you were getting at runtime with the errors:

[00:00:00.621,673] <err> fs: fs_open:mount point not found!!
[00:00:00.623,016] <err> fs: fs_open:mount point not found!!

I've found hat it's simply because Openthread gets initialized before settings. I enabled LFS settings using these guys:

# Settings uses littlefs

CONFIG_SETTINGS_FS=y

CONFIG_SETTINGS_FS_DIR="/lfs/settings"

CONFIG_SETTINGS_FS_FILE="/lfs/settings/run"

I'm going to play with it tomorrow and report back here.

Is there a public solution that can be shared for this problem? Running into the same issue.

I will add that it looks like something is calling `settings_subsys_init` (Likely 'otPlatSettingsInit') early on during Zephyr kernel init. If I can initialize the filesystem *before* this happening then the problem is addressed.
