 I use Visual Studio Code for only code editing environment. I use VSC to edit, build and flash projects just using &lt;a href="https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/1.5.0/zephyr/guides/west/index.html#west-zephyr-s-meta-tool"&gt;West (Zephyr&amp;#39;s meta tool)&lt;/a&gt;.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I open the NCS folder in VSC and then open a terminal inside of it and then &lt;a href="https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/1.5.0/nrf/gs_programming.html?highlight=west#building-on-the-command-line"&gt;build and flash projects using command line&lt;/a&gt;. There is also several questions like yours in DevZone, have a &lt;a href="https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/66509/setting-up-a-workspace-in-visual-studio-code"&gt;look at this answer from my colleague Martin.&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
