I am currently in the process of designing a prototype using the nRF9160 and I use the Nordic-Thingy91 as a reference for some parts. The Thingy91 uses the ADP5360 for charging and power management.
Unfortunatly the ADP5360 only comes

RE: Possible alternatives to ADP5360

Thank you for your reply, I will use it like that and hope for the best ^^

I did ask Analog Devices, but they haven't replied yet...

RE: Possible alternatives to ADP5360

Looking at the ADP5350 block diagram V_ISOS seems to be the output of the DCDC converter, so it should be capable of supplying the nRF91. You can see that V_ISOS feeds into the other LDO's for the optional supply outputs (VOUT1-3). You should ask Analog Devices though, as it is their product and not ours they are the ones who know the most about how these devices operate.

Unfortunately I have to finish the design this week. It is part of my master thesis which has a deadline in 1.5 months.

Do you know if I could achieve the same results with the ADP5350 as with the ADP5360?

RE: Possible alternatives to ADP5360

Hey Stefan,

We are actually going to launch our own PMIC very soon and the Thingy91 kit will be updated to use this PMIC. I believe we will start to ship eval kits of this PMIC that you can use for the development of your prototypes.

I suggest you contact our Regional Sales Manager for more info about this PMIC and ask if you can get an eval kit, the RSM's might have some prototype eval kits for keen customers. Note that this information is confidential for the time being.

BR,
Håkon Holdhus.

RE: Possible alternatives to ADP5360

With the ADP5350 I could use the V_ISOS pin in the same manner as the V_SYS pin with the ADP5360 to power the nRF9160 right?
