What is the change for future hardware revision? Do we need to modify our circuit design for nRF51822 when new hardware revision is released?

RE: nRF51822 future hardware revision?

Guest3 minutes ago

I have download updated , nrf518 SDK 4_4_0_30888 but I didn't find any SPI SLAVE,., plz guide me ,,
I really need this to configure my nordic nrf51822 in spi slave mode , and also I am using keil uvision

I believe you'll find that silicon revision is a) not the one you have b) not yet shipping (unless that's changed in the past couple of weeks)

You need new silicon AND a new SDK.

This means that the softdevice will still occupy code region 0, but using this new feature, you'll be able to mark some parts of code region 1 as read-only, and hence protect for example a bootloader. This will be further explained in an updated Reference Manual, so if you need further details, I'd recommend you wait for this.

RE: nRF51822 future hardware revision?

Hi Ole, can you give a little bit more information regarding:

possibility to protect a flash region from erase/write, in addition to code region 0 (to protect for example a bootloader).

What does it do differently from the current IC revision?
Your sales representative will be able to give further information, and there will also be updated documents on the web when the new revision is officially released. That should happen some time this summer.

This future hardware revision should not require any hardware design changes.
