That seems to have fixed the issue, wouldn't mind seeing that PR pulled, seeing this has been broken since Aug 2020, and it took many hours before I found this.

I got back from the developers that there currently is a bug in MCUBoot that may be causing this. Could you try to apply the following pull request and see if the problem is solved then?

No particular Kconfig entry, I manually update a print-out in the code. (my application version number is based on git tag and hash, so for debugging these things a manual debug entry in code that gets printed is easier)

The updated print-out does work and gets properly compiled, since I see it update when not including the B0 bootloader.

I will need to check with the developers what might be going on here. Which Kconfig do you use to bump the version of the application?
