That should be it indeed. Are you able to use anything else than the phone you have for a scanner? If you have another DK you should be able to see it using the Bluetooth Low Energy nRFConnect Desktop app.

im able to flash onto nRF52833DK (i think)

i think there is no problem with flashing it. but it just can't get the advertising going!!!

are there any extra steps?

1. pull .hex to programmer

2. erase the board

3. write into the board.

DONE?

Yes, I tested this on an nRF52833DK myself. Are you able to flash the .hex file onto the nRF52833DK successfully? Please upload a log from the nRFConnect Programmer as well as a screenshot of the GUI so I can have a look.

I will try to track down a v0.9.0 PDK like the one you have as well to test on to make sure that the DK version isn't the issue as well. It shouldn't be, but I'll check just in case.

i had tried the .hex file that you provided in the previous reply and it didn't work as well. are you using nrf52833DK_52833 ?

as there are few other boards with nrf52833DK_nrf52810 and nrf52833DK_nrf52820. i guess this is the problem that causing me this trouble?

Please try flashing this .hex file onto your DK to see if you're able to detect the beacon that way. This is the firmware I used on my end, so it should be advertising correctly. I used the nRFConnect Programmer app to flash it onto the DK on my end.

Hi Simon,

i also flashed the project into nRF 52833 DK. but i just can't get to show advertising beacon in my iPhone. is there any possible reason for it ?

1. A command that missed out ? (but if i missed out a command , i don't think i will be able to build up the project successful)

2. i tested with other BLE application , nRF52833 DK works out good. so i don't think there are problems with the board.

3. procedure on building up the project ? (rebuild project >> Debug(GO) >> RUN)

Hi Zack

I've done a test on my end, and did not have any issues seeing it advertising on my Nokia 8.1 when flashing the application onto my nRF52833 DK. If you're using some other HW, that might be why you're not able to see the advertisement due to either a bad antenna or an LF clock not available in your HW.

Device name is set in the prj.conf file as "DF Connectionless Beacon App". I will try to set it up and test on my end as well and get back to you with an update.

Phones are for testing if i can find the project while advertising , and it did show that there's no problem with other project but direction_finding. Are you free to test it ?

im scanning with iPhone 12 , when i open up another project "bluetooth_hid_mouse" , my phone can successfully get the advertising. but when i change the project to "direction finding connectionless tx " it turns out nothing appear on my phone. btw, im using nrf 52833 kit to flash it. can i know what is the device name define in the "direction finding connectionless t" ? as i can't find any of clue in the project that describe it.

Does the phones you're scanning with support extended advertising at all? It seems like you're able to run it successfully to me, so I don't see a reason it should not be advertising here. Are you flashing this project onto a Development kit or a custom board of your own?

im thinking is there any possible steps that i missed out? as the project looks fine (success in building up) . for Keil C in order to use a BLE sample , you need to flash the sample two times in a way to trigger the sample. im not sure if SES has to do the same?

What advertising interval are you using? Is it possible that you upload the sniffer trace here so I could take a look, I can set the case to private mode if you'd like, that way only yourself and Nordic engineers will be able to see its contents.

Are you able to see the device advertising in central devices, a phone or another DK, to confirm that it is infact advertising at all. I'm not sure if the Ellisys analyzers will be able to track CTE.

Sorry, but can you provide some more details on what exactly you can't match? Do you know that the device has this address, but it doesn't show up in the Bluetooth analyzer or what? What do you mean by that you "can't match the right address"?

Hi Simon, i success in building up the project successfully. but i came in with an issue of , i got a bluetooth detect (Ellisys) beside me, and i can't match the right address that showed F6:C0:FE:1E:27:87 in my bluetooth analyser.

Did i miss out anything?

1. The Direction Finding Beacon example is what we got as of yet.

2. i had read the case that Andreas tries to explain. and btw , the "the Bluetooth: Direction Finding Periodic Advertising Beacon in Zephyr" website isn't working ,it shows that website had been removed.

3. is there any reference guide for 52833 ? as i only confuse on getting the CTE packets.

1. Please check out this case, where Andreas tries to explain it simpler than what the whitepaper does. You can also check out the Bluetooth: Direction Finding Periodic Advertising Beacon in Zephyr, which is a simple application demoing the BLE direction finding CTE broadcaster by sending CTE with periodic advertising.
