Thanks for the PATH. I will compare this with a working installation on a Mac here at the office. Have you made sure to run the "source <ncs_root>/zephyr/zephyr-env.sh" command as well?

Alternatively, installing using the Toolchain Manager app of nRF Connect for Desktop should be quite reliable for MacOS now so you could try that as well.

Hi Carl. Thanks for the reply. I installed via nRF Connect's Getting Started app and followed its instructions. All appeared to install well (I also used --user to avoid permission issues). I've even attempted a manual install of pyyaml - pip3 told me that it is already installed. Any more ideas? Thanks again.

Thanks for reaching out. The error indicates that you are missing the "yaml" python module. Did you install the nRF Connect SDK (NCS) using the Toolchain Manager or manually? If the latter could you try to install the Python dependencies again entering the ncs directory and calling:

pip3 install -r zephyr/scripts/requirements.txt
pip3 install -r nrf/scripts/requirements.txt
pip3 install -r bootloader/mcuboot/scripts/requirements.txt

You may have to add the "--user" flag at the end.

In case it helps, I'm able to build and flash a basic blinky app with the Zephyr install via the CLI: https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/latest/zephyr/getting_started/index.html

However, I'm not yet able to build the mqtt_simple project from within the Zephyr installation:

west build -p auto -b nrf9160dk_nrf9160 ../nrf/samples/nrf9160/mqtt_simple

...leads to and more:

/opt/nordic/ncs/nrf/lib/nrf_modem_lib/nrf_modem_lib.c:14:10: fatal error: pm_config.h: No such file or directory

14 | #include <pm_config.h>

| ^~~~~~~~~~~~~

Other Nordic samples exhibit similar problems (I tried the at_client).
