I have talked to Segger support and they have confirmed that I can use the linker of the DK board and the software is approved for this use.

You get a free commercial license with Segger Embedded studio for your Nordicsemi IC.

The Jlink that comes with the nRF5x DKs can be used for debugging your custom design as well, this is allowed as per the license.The only restriction is that the Jlink on the DK is best used when your custom board's voltage is similar to the voltage on the DK. (~3v)

Unfortunately, the board is intended for commercial use. Because of that reason I would have to buy a Segger Embedded Studio license and a J-Link Base.
For this reason I would like to put on a cheaper solution.

Since the Segger Embedded Studio is already using gcc and there is free segger license for Nordicsemi customers, it would be best to go with Segger.
Is there something that makes Segger Embedded studio and jlink unsuitable for you ?
