Hum,
VSCode use the following command:

west build --build-dir /home/vbelloir/ncs/v2.1.2/nrf/samples/zigbee/light_switch/build /home/vbelloir/ncs/v2.1.2/nrf/samples/zigbee/light_switch --pristine --board nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpuapp -- -DNCS_TOOLCHAIN_VERSION:STRING="NONE" -DCONF_FILE:STRING="/home/vbelloir/ncs/v2.1.2/nrf/samples/zigbee/light_switch/boards/nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpuapp.conf" -DBOARD_ROOT:STRING="/home/vbelloir/ncs/v2.1.2/nrf/samples/zigbee/light_switch"

But I in CLI, I use instead:

west build --build-dir /home/vbelloir/ncs/v2.1.2/nrf/samples/zigbee/light_switch/build /home/vbelloir/ncs/v2.1.2/nrf/samples/zigbee/light_switch --pristine --board nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpuapp -- -DNCS_TOOLCHAIN_VERSION:STRING="NONE" -DBOARD_ROOT:STRING="/home/vbelloir/ncs/v2.1.2/nrf/samples/zigbee/light_switch"

Build is ok.
I will try to flash

Hi all,
I have the same issue with
ubuntu 22.04
NCS v2.1.2
nrf5340DK

I open in VSCode ~/ncs/v2.1.2/nrf/samples/zigbee/light_switch example code, and I select nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpuapp board.

As CrisT I got the following error

ncs/v2.1.2/nrf/samples/zigbee/light_switch/src/main.c:17:10: fatal error: zboss_api.h: No such file or directory

Instead of nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpuapp if I select nrf52840dk_nrf52840, build process is a success.

Do you have an idea for me?

Thanks a lot Carl, I was selecting the "nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpunet" all the time thinking it was a network cpu app. Selecting "nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpuapp" worked.

Time to get my application going!

Hi again!

That was unfortunate. It should not be necessary to add files manually, so I believe the issue is related to something else.

Could I ask with "Board Name" you are selecting in the "Open nRF Connect SDK project" dialog box? Make sure to select "nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpuapp", which targets the application core. This will automatically build a network core image as well, that can be programmed according to the user guide.

I just tried selecting "nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpunet", which produced the same error as you are seeing.

Unfortunately, after completely removing all nordic applications, installing the ncs via nrf connect, the error is still present when building: zboss_api.h is seemingly not present. Is there any way to manually add it?

Thank you. Your setup seems okay. I have not managed to reproduce the issue here either, so something is fishy. What OS are you using?

I am using nRF Connect v3.6.1, i was using nrf Connect SDK v1.5.0 now i installed v1.5.1

I am not entirely sure what nRF5340-DK version i have. On the debugger chip a sticker reads: PCA10095 0.11.0 2020.52 960128391.

Understood. What version of the nRF Connect SDK are you using, and which version of the nRF5340DK/PDK do you have?

If you were using a VPN while installing NCS that may results in issues as well.

Hello Carl, thank you for answering,

I am using the NCS, i installed NCS directly from NRF Connect. To open the project i open the ide directly from nrf connect, file -> Open NRF Connect SDK Project -> I select the project i want to open, in this case more specifically Network Coordinator sample and the board i own.

When Building the error i get is "fatal error: zboss_api.h: No such file or directory"

I built and uploaded examples like blinky on the board but zigbee does not work.

If more details are necessary please do tell.

Thanks for reaching out! Are you using the SDK for Zigbee and Thread or the nRF Connect SDK (NCS)? The nRF5340 only supports NCS, so that's a good place to start. The ZBOSS library should be included by default with the installation. If you're already using NCS please describe how you installed it and opened the project.

NCS also has a Network Coordinator sample.
