I have modified the central_smp_client sample to support DFU, check it out here: https://github.com/simon-iversen/ncs_samples/tree/master/central_smp_client_dfu

With this sample you will be able to perform a DFU from one nRF52840DK to another nRF52840DK

Any news on a SMP client sample with DFU support? Are you still using a misleading title GATT DFU SMP Service Client or is this currently work in progress?

As far as I know, there is no such plan at the moment.

I think it can be used as a starting point & and as a building block for that, but as-of-today it's missing DFU functionality.

No, unfortunately we don't have any examples on how to use this to do a DFU.

The name of the sample is misleading, as it does not show-case any DFU features. The sample connects to an SMP Server and sends a simple echo command. We plan to rename the sample, and remove the "DFU" part of it.
