Unsure if we have any out of the box examples in our SDK that demonstrates this.

I'll try to find some time to create a simple example for you.

I don't see any reason for why it shouldn't work to use that service both in non connectable mode and connectable mode.

As long as it is not specified that this shouldn't be done in the iBeacon specification that this is prohibited.

You just have to change the advertising type.

my query is that the custom services we create can they be used in non connectable mode also. Because the tutorial is in connectable mode only but i want in non connectable mode display my services and characteristics. please help github.com/.../nRF5x-custom-ble-service-tutorial

This application can be used as a starting point to write an iBeacon application. The procedure for creating an iBeacon application and the specification should be available at mfi.apple.com. Once the specification is obtained, this application can be modified to fit the requirements of iBeacon.
