That could work for a 1-off personal project - but no good for widespread or commercial use

Yes, I hardcode the appkey and netkey in the API smartphone. This is my plan.

Okay. Bad news. it means that we must connect to the proxy by a manual operation before sending a mesh message? I would like to send easily a generic on off message by phone in the mesh network to order light switching of a tag. I don't want to scan for proxy, select proxy, connect to it and then send message. Or maybe we could do all these steps in one to facilitate user experience?

Could you clarify about this? I run on Android 8.1 and bluetooth version 5.0. Is this enough to figure out if PB-ADV is feasible?

Yes, that is correct. I'm not aware of any phones that supports PB-ADV at the moment unfortunatetly.

It would depend on the smartphone:

having the necessary hardware;
having the necessary software to support it.
