I have the nRF51822 evaluation kit, the Keil MDK software and a custom board with the nRF51822 microcontroller on it. My question is if it is possible to use the on-board SEGGER debugger on either of the dongle or the PCA100001 board in order

RE: Programm nRF51822

The on board JLInk license allows using it only on the board which it came with or for personal educational use only. It is not allow otherwise. There is a cheap alternative to JLink here that works both on OS X and Windows. Can flash Softdevice, app and DFU all at once no mergehex require. Also support mBed drag & drop.

RE: Programm nRF51822

Yes, you are right, the only board we have that supports debug out currently is the pca10028.

RE: Programm nRF51822

Hello Øyvind.
Thank you for your quick reply. The post you reffered to is using the nRF51DK which provides "debug out" possibility that is not present at the evaluation kit boards. However, I found this thread: link text where a colleague of yours says that with EK boards external device programming is not possible. I assume this is still the case, so I would have to find another opiton?

RE: Programm nRF51822

Hi,

Yes this is possible, and there's a blogpost on Programming the nRF51822 Beacon Kit with the nRF51DK which explains the essentials of how to do this. Hopefully this answers your question.

Best regards,
