We need clarification about Nordic Advertiser Extensions (Instaburst) .
1. The document ( Nordic Advertiser Extensions (Instaburst) ) says that the maximum theoretical mesh access layer payload throughput is around 60 kbps.
Can you explain how

RE: Nordic Advertiser Extensions - nRF52840 - MESH

Hi,

You can use that method to get longer range but it won't comply with the spec meaning you won't be able to qualify your product later on.

RE: Nordic Advertiser Extensions - nRF52840 - MESH

Hi Mttrinh

Thanks for the reply.

Can you please take a look at this older case to enable the Mesh with coded PHY for a longer range?

This is a very older post. Why can't we use this method in the latest SDK to use Coded PHY in Mesh architecture?

RE: Nordic Advertiser Extensions - nRF52840 - MESH

Hi,

1. It is meantioned in the document you referred to. The PHY that is used is 2Mbit.

2. No, unfortunately Coded PHY is not supported in either Instaburst feature or the Mesh specification. We don't have any tests that use Coded PHY so we don't have such throughput measurement.

3. Unfortunately, we do not have support for periodic advertisement in our SoftDevices. We do however, have a few ways to perform periodic advertising with other means. There are quite a few posts on that already here on DevZone, you can try check out one of those.

Like I mentioned in your other post, Bluetooth Mesh specification is based on v4.0 and does not support Bluetooth 5 features.
