You can close out this ticket. David Martin worked with me and we got it resolved. Apparently something like the "programmer proximity sensor", it just started working while I was on the call with him.

I'll doubtless be back.....thank you for the help.

At the moment, Win7, because Win10 won't run some mission-critical apps on my main work machine. I wasted a week trying to downgrade to Win10 and gave up, although I still have the hard drives online for that. I can move to a Win10 laptop for testing, and in fact already tried that. Your tools in general don't fail very gracefully when there's a problem with which OS I'm using. I'll go give another try on Win10; meanwhile, I've got to have tools that reliably allow me to get real work done.

Did all of that, including reloading the bootloader as described, but that just leaves me with SES wanting to reload it again, and then crashing. This is with the latest SES and bootloader, just downloaded today. This is turning into a huge time sink, just to get back to having something working that used to work fine.

You can download it directly from SEGGER here, I'm not confident in that SES is really the problem here, which version of SES are you using?

What revision of the devkit are you using? Have you soldered any of the Solder bridges? What do voltage do you measure on VDD and the Reset pin on the devkit while it's plugged to the computer through USB.

The only step I had not already tried was reloading the bootloader. After I did that, SES said there was newere firmware to download over it, so I did - and I'm back to the original problem. I suspect I need to update SES, which I haven't done for a few months. Where is the preferred source to update SES? And why do my several other devkits not show this problem?
