It is indeed listed as a USB Serial Device in the device manager.

I think that something might have gone wrong in the installation of capture tool and/or the adding a wireshark profile part of your installation process on your end. How does Wireshark look on your end when you open it?

On my end I have a choice to choose the sniffer in Capture, the profile is set to Profile_nRF_Sniffer_Bluetooth_LE, and I have the interface up top where I can choose COM port, what devices to sniff for and what channels to hop between.

Could you tell me which driver are you using for that? In my device manager, dongle appears as "USB Serial Device", maybe it's the problem.

I have installed the latest version of J-Link and nrfprog.

I just tested this on my end, and when I flashed the devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../sniffer_5F00_nrf52840dongle_5F00_nrf52840_5F00_7cc811f.hex file onto the nRF52840 Dongle using the nRFConnect for Desktop Programmer app, it immediately was recognized by the computer as an nRF Sniffer for Bluetooth LE device. See picture below.

Are you using a USB hub between the Dongle and PC for instance? What version of nrfjprog and J-Link are you using? J-Link should not be necessary, but nrfjprog is.

I've done everything according to instruction but dongles are still not visible in Wireshark but visible in device manager (as on the screen above). Do I need any extra drivers to make them visible and usable? I've tried to re-flash them few times but no result.

Hi Mariusz

The Dongles might not seem like they are programmed after you have flashed the .hex onto them, as the USB bootloader is disabled when any new firmware is running, and it should work as intended after you have installed the nRF Sniffer capture tool in Wireshark, and added the Wireshark profile for nRF Sniffer.
