As far as I know, this new version is scheduled for release this week.

Hi,

We are aware of the issue. It seem to be a bug in SES NE. Sorry for the inconvenience.

While waiting for a new SES NE version with a fix, a workaround is to place the overlay file under
<sample>/boards/<board>.overlay
instead, then the board overlay file will be correctly applied.

For example as it is done here: https://github.com/nrfconnect/sdk-nrf/blob/master/samples/peripheral/lpuart/boards/nrf52840dk_nrf52840.overlay
