&lt;p&gt;Yes, to implement bonding you should use the BLE_GAP_EVT_SEC_PARAMS_REQUEST.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Examples that implement bonding use the newest structures, one is the heart rate service from SDK 8.1.&lt;/p&gt;
