&lt;p&gt;The auto notifications from CSCON can be enabled or disabled with AT+CSCON command.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;AT+CSCON=0 will disable notifications.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It is purely an indication to on Idle/connected status to the tower. If you are monitoring the power consumption you will see the higher power consumption when CSCON=1 and low power when CSCON=0.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
