Undefined reference, have you added the necessary files to your project?
Make sure that you have added the ble_advertising.c file to your project, and included its header file at the top of your main.c

Thank you for your fast response. I tried to get the update of the advertising working, unfortunately I get the error

undefined Reference to - "ble_advertising_advdata_update()"

I am using SDK 17.0.2, and I did not find any working solution to fix this issue. Maybe you know why this error occurs and how to solve it.

Yes, I too noticed this - so I created this blogpost to hopefully clear out any confusion about how to update the advertising data using the BLE Advertising library. The blogpost also contains an example projects that updates its advertising data periodically, to illustrate how it can be done. I hope this helps.
