Update:

I think I have found the problem, I put the power source switch to "USB" position, now I moved it to "VDD" and it started working properly and I could program the device.

It didn't look very obvious to me, I thought it's the USB powering the board, so I should put it at "USB" position. I also tried the "VDD" option, but it didn't work earlier. Anyway, now I can move forward.

"nrfjprog -I" doesn't return anything.

LED5 blinks irregularly: it's much dimmer than before. Sometimes it doesn't blink up at all after plugged in. Pressing button4 doesn't have any effect.

This is the log from yesterday, when I was at least able to connect to the target:

In that case does "nrfjprog -i" return anything now? Is LED5 on the DK is still flashing?

Could you also provide me the logfile produced from the nrfjprog --eraseall --log command, or did it not manage to produce one? There should be a .txt file in the folder you were using.

It got even worse. Now I can't even detect the usb serial port.I start to suspect the board is bad. How can I get a replacement? I bought it from DigiKey.

Could you give me that logfile that was generated?

And could you try "nrfjprog --eraseall", as well as checking the Programmer in the nRF Connect App?

Thats odd. Do you know what chip version are you using?

And what does it output when you run:

nrfjprog --recover --coprocessor CP_NETWORK -f NRF53
nrfjprog --recover -f NRF53
