I am a new here~ If I asked some stupid question, please easy on me.
Currently I am doing a prototype with nRF51822 chip. I know that the official programming kit is nRF51-DK but it seems to me that this development kit only could do

RE: Programming individual nRF51822 chip

I see. Thanks very much for your help. I will have a try and then back to update my status~

RE: Programming individual nRF51822 chip

I think you have to program the bootloader and the specific softdefice. Otherwise there will be no BLE connection. After that, OTA upgrading should be possible.

RE: Programming individual nRF51822 chip

Hi, thanks to both of you~
Then, is it possible that I program the bootloader to the chip first via the debug port of DK and then do the OTA upgrading?

RE: Programming individual nRF51822 chip

There's a blogpost that outlines the use of the Debug out port to program the beacon kit with nRF51 DK.

OTA is possible with a custom design, but you need some way to flash a bootloader onto the chip at first.

RE: Programming individual nRF51822 chip

Hello,

I think there is a "Debug out" Port on the DK. By this Debug out port, it should be possible to program your custom design. For programming the bare chip, you must have special equipment. So there should be a debug/SWD Port on your custom PCB.

Hope that helps.

Regards
