Thanks a lot Raj and Jonathan, Last Friday the problem was resolved I contacted the Nordic Team and I flashed firstly via MCUBOOT mode and then it worked with the Tag connect. i can flash codes. Happy Programming!

Hi Raj,

I am waiting for a reply from actinius team. Today something unusual happened. I received a sucessfully flashed message without connecting the tag connect from the nrf9160 DK board to the actinius Ikarus board.

Can you use west or the programmer(if MCUboot works) to flash the AT_client example on to the Icarus.

The SW5 is to select what chip to program so it is to the debug input and not debug output, so it does not matter, you can do as they propose in previous link on how to use the DK as a programmer and switch SW5 to nrf52, so that you dont accidently program the DK.

You dont need to use the DK if you want to use the MCUBoot, then uart/usb is ok.

Hi Jonathan,

Before we start the MCU boot mode the Asset Tracker(Factory Firmware Bundle) should be uploaded then a blue light comes in. Only then MCU Boot mode can be succesfully used to write hex files. I wrote the app_signed.hex file but no output at the PuTTy Client also later the blue color fails to show. Can you please tell me which mode should i select on the dk board while using MCU BOOT? should it be nrf52 or nrf91?

Hi Jonathan,

I did change the prj.conf file and tried to flash AT Host (eSIM) but the device doesn't go in the MCU boot mode. I followed the steps of pressing and releasing the reset and the P5 button alternatively. Please help.

Looks like you tried a sample called uart_esp8266, could you try a different sample, like the at_client?

Could the issue of MCUBoot be that you have accidently erased it ?

When you are using the nrf9160 DK as a programmer make sure you select 3V on the VDD IO switch.

These are the screenshots of the actinius programmer. First I read the memory of the dk board then I uploaded my hex file and then i wrote it on the dk board. My tag connect was also in contact with the icarus board but as nrf91 is selected I guess the code would be flashed on dk board only right?

Thanks for quick reply.

I am using the toolchain manager via command prompt and with west flash trying to flash the ikarus board by using tag connect form the nrf9160dk board. I used the programmer as you said and uploaded the hex file but the device doesnt go into mcu boot mode. Hence i cannot flash it in that way either.

Does this only happen when you use the terminal?

What happens when you use the Actinius Programmer and try to flash a hex file?

The nrf9160 DK should have SW10 in nrf9160 position.

Hi Respected Nordic Developers,

The connection with the icarus board and the nrf9160 dk board works perfectly fine as I have verified it with the nrf Connect Programmer dialog box(window). But still it fails to flash. sometime it doesn't gets flash and other times when it gets flashed successfully then comes an error with the output after a few sceonds. Also the hexadecimal values which were changed are shown with the successful flash message.

I currently do not have a icarus so I cant test, byt just to chack have you followed the documentation form icarus website?
