The tutorial linked to by vham is a very good starting point for getting started with the nRF Connect SDK, and I highly recommend looking at that first. You can also find other getting started guides here on DevZone by going to nRF Connect SDK guides - Getting Started. Under nRF Connect SDK guides you will also find other software and hardware peripheral related guides.
