Hi,

It does not seem like any of the options in our board peripheral .defconfig is board specific. Can you comment out all those and introduce one-by-one to see the effect? Or alternatively use the nRF52840 DK board with your custom board, just modify pin configuration for the UART?

I have tested dfault Central/Peripheral uart SDK example on my custom board and i got this error:

The external UART is connected to peripheral,where the error happen: the address mach with this thread:

As on the past i put up the Stacksize and the error is keeping, so we stay on this point

On the other hand if I connect the external UART to the central i get the popular error of BUS FAULT:

So definetly there are some on this custom board that isn't well configured 😞

Hi,

I have new information,

I take MY peripheral_UART code and put it into an nrf53 with the child image of hr_coded. I connect it to MY custom board with MYCentral_UART code. I connect the external UART to the peripheral nrf53 and is transmitting without problem and no asserts and no reboots.

So i can deduce that my code works, but the configuration of my custom board doesn't work.

This is my board peripheral .defconfig:

I keep my custom Central Uart but trying to connect to nRF connect for Desktop BLE.

The fault happen only on the device which the external UART is connected. On another words, the device which faults is receiving data through UART rx and sending it to the another device through BLE.

So i can't understand that the error is on this thread...

Hi,

I thought the fault happened on the peripheral device? Now I see you have a bus fault on the central device as well?

Can you try to make a minimal failing project that reproduce the issue using a single DK, and using any device (like nRF connect for Desktop BLE) as the peer? Also it should not rely on physical UART, but just send some dummy NSU data in firmware. That way it is easier to test and also fewer variables to look into. Also, if stripping away parts of your firmware changes the behavior that gives an indication on where to look.

Hi another time,

If you didn't be able to debug my project until now, there aren't any problem, but i work a little more on the projects, and as i can see only is keeping the error of BUS Alert, but with some differences on directions, i will update all information:

For reproduce this error is necessary have a connection of 1 central and 1 peripheral. On one of any devices connect to a external UART(for example xctu) and send periodically a packet of 5 bytes + \r +\n every second.

The error happens on the device where the external UART is connected and sending data. Aparently the device reboots randomly. This is an example of the issue on Central:

Hi,

don't worry about the delay, i have been testing the examples more, and improving my structure of manage connection/disconnection between devices.

What I was trying is send this time from the central to the peripheral. I get an error relationed with the buffers that i post on another thread. https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/79820/help-to-understanding-error-not-able-to-allocate-uart-receive-buffer

But the ble communication seems to work properly, so i guess that the issue of this thread is going to be something realtioned with buffers, configuration, k_free function on peripheral project,

Thanks for the interest on debug my project, is so important to mi achieve this.

To reproduce my configuration you should compile that project with another board (I use a custom board named hello_board, the only difference with nrf52840 dk are the UART, buttons and Leds pins).

Firstly u should close a communication between 2 devices, my project use a filter by name, and only work on coded phy, so i will upload Central UART too to make you easier.

Later you should send packets of 50 bytes every second from another device to UART rx pin of peripheral.

If this happend while there are a communication the error must happen.

I see. So there is a spinlock assert for some reason. Looking at the error relates to the tread at 0x20001b88. Can you check the map file to see which thread it corresponds to? Does it help upping the stack for that thread?

yes i am using nRF Connect SDK 1.6.1 and nRF Connect 3.7.1 with Toolchain Manager 0.9.3.

The last output error is getted via UART on the peripheal. The next output error appears on Segger Studio Debug at the same time:

Hi,

That is a good indication of the issue. Can you check wat is located at 0x200033d4 in order to get closer? Using addr2line with the .elf file should do this.

(Regarding the APP_ERROR_CHECK that was under the assumption that you were using nRF5 SDK, which was not the case. I was hipping to get much of the same information you got from the assert you shown in your last post)

Okay, i debug it and the peripheal is rebooting unexpectedly on random times, don't have a patron fixed, maybe peripheal have sended 20 messages or maybe 2 before of reboot. When i send an array of data of 5 bytes to peripheal UART every second this reboot isn't happend, with more of 20 bytes start to reboot. I think the issue is due to UART data flow.

Hi, looking it better the Disconnect reason -8 is coming of the central Device, so i will try to debug peripheal to see which is the reasson of it disconnection
