&lt;p&gt;System OFF can be entered by using&amp;nbsp;&lt;span&gt;&lt;span&gt;nrf_pwr_mgmt_shutdown(&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;NRF_PWR_MGMT_SHUTDOWN_GOTO_SYSOFF). The reset signal used to exit system off must be set externally. See the&lt;a href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/sdk_nrf5_v17.1.0/pwr_mgmt_example.html"&gt;&amp;nbsp;Power Management Example&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;in the SDK.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;System OFF: In this power mode the CPU is basically powered down, and the CPU is consuming extremely little current. The CPU will reset on a wakeup, which means that CPU won&amp;#39;t retain the program state during the system off sleep.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;System ON(IDLE SLEEP): In this power mode the CPU is powered on but not doing anything. In most cases it just spins in a loop until the CPU &amp;quot;wakes up&amp;quot; due to a interrupt. Since the CPU is actually powered on, this sleep mode will draw significantly more power than system off sleep.&lt;/p&gt;
