i want to have a simple code where:

1). as i flash the code the system should be in off mode,

2). then i press a button on dk, a pattern of leds gets on indicating the system wakes up

3). again then the system is put to sleep mode

Couldn't you just check a non volatile parameter that indicates if the code has just been flashed and then go to sleep?

we want that directly when code is flashed the device should be in off mode

Hi,

System OFF can be entered by using nrf_pwr_mgmt_shutdown(NRF_PWR_MGMT_SHUTDOWN_GOTO_SYSOFF). The reset signal used to exit system off must be set externally. See the Power Management Example in the SDK.

i have nrf52832 device. I just want that my device after i put the code into it should enter into SYSTEM OFF mode directly and then after 5 secs if i reset then i exit from System OFF mode

Hi,

System OFF: In this power mode the CPU is basically powered down, and the CPU is consuming extremely little current. The CPU will reset on a wakeup, which means that CPU won't retain the program state during the system off sleep.

System ON(IDLE SLEEP): In this power mode the CPU is powered on but not doing anything. In most cases it just spins in a loop until the CPU "wakes up" due to a interrupt. Since the CPU is actually powered on, this sleep mode will draw significantly more power than system off sleep.
