The RXD pin is used to receive data, and if there is no external circuitry or chip controlling this pin, then it is floating, and<span>&nbsp;</span>a floating input<span>&nbsp;</span>will quickly cause framing errors on the UART. The code may assert in this case. To check if this is the case I recommend to place a &gt;100kohm pull-up resistor on the RXD pin.</p> <p>Kenneth</p><div style="clear:both;"></div>
