After talking to IAR there seems to be an issue with JLink download. Maybe this is causing the "Blocked misaligned 1-byte SFR write access". Using IAR flash loader seems to work! When ticking the box I am able to download and debug without errors.

Sorry, but the nRF5 SDK have not been tested or used with IAR 9. So you will need to use either 7, or possible 8 with the described workaround.

If you are not able to use IAR 7 or 8, then I suggest to look into using Segger Embedded STudio (SES) instead as an alternative. There is a free commercial license when developing projects with SES and nRF products.
