I am testing long range feature using nRF52840 DK. However BLE 5.0 standard specifies two modes of coded: S=2 (500Kbps) and S=8 (125kps). I am using SDK 17.0.2 with softdevice s140 17.2.0, I found that device can be set to coded PHY using BLE_GAP_CODED_PHY

RE: BLE Long Range using nRF52840

Hi Einar

We do not have any examples with or without the SoftDevice that demonstrate transmitting with S=2. Also, we do not have any Bluetooth stack that supports it at the moment. The other Bluetooth stack we provide is in context of the nRF Connect SDK, but there it is also currently not possible to select S=2 (see this thread).

Thanks for the reply. I understood that with softdevice it is not configurable.
Is there any example(without softdevice), in which device is being configured to 125Kbps/500Kbps PHY?

Best regards,

This is not configurable. When using coded PHY, the SoftDevice always transmits on S=8. It seamlessly handles receiving S=2 or S=8, though.
