In nRF52840-QIAA Reference Layout 1_1.zip, nrf52840_qiaa_var5_schematic. pdf: are C3, C4, C22 and L1 inside or outside an RF shield?
Thanks,

If you are module manufacturer that are doing certification on a module, then you need to have shield, since it can be placed in any kind of design. While if you are making a design without a module, then the entire design will be tested towards radio regulations in any case, so there are no requirements to use a shield.

There are no performance improvements using a shield.

Is an RF shield recommended, even if it's not used in the reference design? Most modules (e.g. Laird 451-0000x) use an RF shield.

Thanks,
