Same problems here. Several PCs, several ports...
No serial ports appeared.

I bought a 30cm cable - works. But there is another nail in my coffin...

That should be correct. Are you connecting the board directly to the pc usb port? No usb-hub or similar between them? Is SB40 connected or cut? It is located close to the Power source switch.

And can you try the steps in this guide? https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/24592/my-nrf52-nrf51-dk-kit-doesn-t-work

If that doesn't work, can you send me a picture of the board, in good lighting and as high resolution as possible? So I can perform a final look.

SW10 is set to OFF and SW6 is set to right.

There are two other switches on the board, other than the power source selection. What are they set to?

There aren't any changes in Device manager when plugging in the board. I even don't hear the USB pluggin sound in Windows. We tried several USB cables as well and we got nRF9160 which connects properly with the same cables.

The supply voltage on the kit seems correct.

Ok, when looking in device manager, is there any changes at all when you plug the board in? Try a couple of times, it might not have the expected name.

Have you tried a different USB cable? I've seen this be the issue before.

Have you measured the supply voltage on the kit?

I installed the latest nrf command line tools as well, but no luck.
The LED5 is blinking and LED1 is pulsing.

Ok, try installing the latest version of the nRF Command Line Tools:

https://www.nordicsemi.com/Products/Development-tools/nrf-command-line-tools/download

This will also install/update J-Link drivers and software.

Hi,

Make sure that you are connected to the port on the short side of the DK and that the power supply selection is set to VDD.
