@Stian @PrithviRaj Narendra, hi , ya, it got working. actually it was issue with the connection of Jlink. I was trying to connect JLink pins with wires to the nrf51822 module. I used the wrong column to connect to the JLink. I mean in the JLink connection, I was confused between the column containing Pin 1 and Pin 2 respectively of the J link. so connections were interchanged. thank you for your support.

Working now? Can you check if VDD and Vref are at 3.3V with respect to ground?

hi PrithviRaj, for you convenience, I have edited the question and included the connections that I have used for the Vref. I hope there is no issue with current connection.

Where did you connect the VREF? Narendra's answer below is correct. You can connect this to VDD

Welcome. :) The Vref from JLink should be connected to the VDD of nrf51822, which is 3.3 V. Then JLink will now know that the device that it is programming is powered. Where are you connecting Vref to now (I guess this is what you mean by TREF)?
