The errata give software workarounds for those things which have them, and the startup file pokes things into various registers to get those workaround going. However the things which are fully non-functional are fully non-functional. So if you really want to test PWM, this board isn't going to be totally useful. There's a lot of new stuff which is working, enough to make the preview valuable, but yes there's a lot which isn't, not unusual for an engineering early release.

I've seen no comment that there will be any interim upgraded hardware release, my expectation is that we're waiting until the end of the year for the first production batch of chips, that's what I've been my working assumption at least. And I don't expect them to be totally free of anomalies either.

It's a chip, it's pin compatible when the new release comes out, you can certainly buy one and rework the board, but I don't think it's going to be for a while.
