[...] The issue disappeared after update firmware manually with bootloader mode.

Here is a quick how-to:

Download suggested J-Link Interface MCU Firmware for nRF51-DK
Enter boot loader mode of the interface MCU (More info here)
Power off the board
Hold the IF Boot/Reset button - keep holding it
Power on the board
The LD5 Led should be blinking (0.5Hz)
You will notice a new drive appearing in your Computer with label: BOOTLOADER
Copy the J-Link OB-SAM3U128-V2-NordicSemi 150616.bin file to the root of this drive - normal copy-paste operation. (The LD5 will start blinking fast)
Power off the board and the power it on again...
You are done! New bootlader installed! Issue gone!

hm... this guy has another issue that the device was not detected by nrfgo studio but it detected external memory on PC. is this similar as you? for this issue, try to install latest Jlink software which it released from Segger as below URL. www.segger.com/jlink-software.html

For updating Jlink OB firmware, I used below version. www.nordicsemi.com/.../49235

I did on several nRF51-DK boards and these board are working fine. which version did you flashed on your boards?

I don't know exactly where was broken because I just exchange to new one.. But the Nordic's thought is that there was a problem at segger not nRF51422.

This may seem silly to ask, but how exactly do you do this? I'm not sure what file to use in this situation but I can get my boards into bootloader mode. Help appreciated, Thanks! Well I found out how to do the update but after I do it and reset the board it is no longer recognized by the computer except as a COM port...

I found workaround solution for this issue with latest JLink OB Firmware which it released for nRF52832. The issue disappeared after update firmware manually with bootloader mode.

Having a similar issue on 2/3 of the boards I just recieved. This is really troublesome. Is there a way around the issue? It is causing me trouble with flashing the boards.

Could you add more detail what was broken? I have the same problem. Apart from this issue the board seems to work fine and firmware upgrade using the bootloader (drag-and-drop) works fine as well.

My board was broken...... :D so, I replaced ..........kkk
