I confirmed new 3.9.3 release has fixed my problem.

All of my boards are detected properly, and works fine.

I've had the same issues: The DK doesn't show up in the nRF programmer or any other Nordic tool, but it shows up in the Segger J-Flash tools.

Following the questions asked for your report, this is my setup:

I've reported the issue to our developers. In the meantime you could do as suggested earlier to downgrade the J-link driver.

Now I can physically access those devices, and the board revision printed in label is as follows.

What revision is the PPK2 and the nRF52840 Dongle that doesn't get listed?

I noticed 3.9.1 has been released, and release note says that something has been modified about this issue, but no changes.

Still my nRF devices are not correctly detected, even if I updated nRF command-line tools, too.

Sorry, it's hard.

Both 6.88a and 7.20a is 32bit edition, and lots of my dev tools are linked to C:\Program Files\JLink, not C:\Program Files (x86)\JLink.

I hope other person who interested in this issue, and easily available for downgrade may test this combination. i.e. nRFConnect for Desktop v3.9.0 + JLink 6.88a/7.20a.

Before upgrading to the last version of JLink, I had the JLink version 6.54 (so, way below 7.20a) and was having the problem... Apparently you have to be lucky to have the correct JLink version

I have read https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/81690/nrf-connect-not-showing-dev-kits-j-links.

My JLink version is v7.58, the latest, but hegitate to downgrade because almost every JLink software upgrades also update JLink internal firmware.

Is there any news about fixing problem about JLink?

I am encountering also similar issue. Since update to 3.8.0 and nRF programmer v2.0.0, i get an error with listing devices (it was an "observer/json" thing in v3.8.0, now i get the "Error while probing devices, more details in the debug log: JLINKARM_DLL_ERROR". In both cases it prevents me from getting my DK showing in the list of connected devices.

With/without usb hub does not change the behaviour. The issue happened immediately after updating to v2.0.0 and v3.8.0 for nRF programmer and nrf Connect respectively.

I am downgrading to previous version. Will let you know if the problem disappears.

[EDIT] By the way, the Bluetooth Low Energy was also not discovering devices, like the nrf52 USB dongle. The devices list was also empty. Had to downgrade it as well.

Seems different in my case.

I removed all my DKs, whether nRF or others, and JLinks, but PPK2 and PCA10059 dongle is not listed with nrfjprog command.

But Power profiler app now detects PPK2, and BLE app also detects nRF52840 dongle properly.

Unfortunately, after I connected nRF52833 DK, these apps no longer detect PPK2 and dongle, even after disconnect 52833 DK, and for a few minutes after disconnecting DK, suddenly apps detect PPK2 and dongle properly again.

And in this status, if I connect 52833 DK again, the following error popup appears.

I have the same problem with 2 different computers. I tried to update Segger Jlink to the last version but nothing has changed.

I found something that might help you understand what's going on :

I have 2 nRF devices connected : the PCA10059 (nRF52840-dongle) and the PCA10040 (nRF52 EVK).

If I start the Programmer with only the PCA10059 plugged in, the device list is shown correctly. I can unplug and plug the PCA10059 and it disappears/appears dynamically correctly. Then, if I plug in the PCA10040, nothing appears. And if I restart the Programmer with the PCA10040 plugged in, I have the error (and an empty device list).

Ok. So your 5 boards are recognized by nrfjprog and nRF Connect Desktop but your PPK2 and Dongle is not recognized by either after updating to v3.9.0.?

Could you disconnect the other boards and only connect the PKK2 directly to the USB port on your machine and provide the log when you do:

nrfjprog --ids --log

Another observation...

In the above, both J-Link is connected to unpowered target board.

Now I powered one target board (not nRF), and got the following error message.

52840 dongle & PPK2 is not correctly recognized as Nordic devices, which is the same symptom as version 3.8.0, but different error messages in log.

Hi,

Could you try using the nrfjprog command:

nrfjprog --ids --log

Does the serial number of the PPKs get listed?

For the dongle, are you using a stand alone debugger?

Is the development boards connected directly to the computer, or are you using a hub?
