We developed a product based on the nRF52833 chip, with an external antenna, 3dBi gain. Set transmission parameters 100mS interval and 4dBm transmission power, the product broadcast distance is 165m. If set 8dBm transmission power, the

RE: Broadcast distance test of nRF52833 chip

Thank you,

The output power of the product is indeed in 4dBm and 8dBm modes. The product is 1m above the ground, set to 100mS interval and 1 Mbps Bluetooth ® Low Energy Mode, and broadcast distance is 165m and 185m.

How far is the broadcast distance of the nRF52833 chip that tested by your company ?We want to compare the broadcast distance, which is very helpful for us to improve the product.

Thanks again!

RE: Broadcast distance test of nRF52833 chip

Hello Roland,

This depends on so many things like an antenna, size of the ground plane (for antenna efficiency) matching components, disturbance in the band, etc. Generally, you get double the range when the output power is increased by 6 dB. Did you measure the output power and what it actually is in 4 dBm and 6 dBm mode?

BR
