Hi,

Thanks for the file and the figure, and I have forwarded them to the internal. Since our nRF52DK and DTM firmware don't implement the USB function, it would not be easy for us to reproduce and fix. Therefore, before it is fixed, I would suggest to use the old version of nRF connect desktop and DTM app as you used previously. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi,

The engineer is suspecting that it may be a windows driver issue since we updated the windows driver in the new nRF Connect for Desktop, but we need more tests. Which board do you use to connect the custom board? Is it possible to provide the firmware which can connect to the custom board? Please elaborate in more detail on the workflow of how you use the DTM app and run tests with details. Thanks.

I use the old version of DTM and use the USB TO SERIAL connection to control the customer board. The version is 1.17. My last product has been mass-produced. Now I am developing a new product. After the DTM tool is upgraded to 2.0, I cannot control the customer board. I have been talking about the target board in my question statement, and did not mention the issue of your official DK. I hope you can read the questions raised by customers carefully, thank you!

Do you mean the downgrade or the USB port cannot work?

Just confirmed by the developer that the DTM app only supports the J2 USB port (as jlink CDC UART port) on DK even in the old version.

Are you using DK or the custom board?

Currently, the updated DTM tool cannot use USB TO SERIAL TO connect the target board, which has seriously slowed down the progress of my product development. I hope you can communicate with your team TO solve my problem ASAP. Waitting for your reply.

I think you didn't understand what I mean.

First, before the DTM tool was updated to V2.00, the PC was connected to the target board via USB to Serial port (also known as the solid-state serial port I mentioned above);

Second: now after the DTM tool is updated to V2.00, only jlink CDC Serial can connect to DK board.

That is to say, hardware development can only use jlink CDC Serial to connect the target board.

Third: This update may increase your test DK board sales in the short term, but it is very unfriendly to product development, and some users may give up using your chip products in the long run.

So my requirement now is: what should I do if I want to use an older version of the DTM tool? In other words, what should I do if I want to connect the target board using USB to Serial port?

Hi,

I get the same frame as your figure in the original post. DTM app doesn't list the device immediately, but it takes about 30 seconds. We are trying to improve that.

Can you check the JLINK serial port of DK detected by the Device manager while opening the DTM app? As the figure in my first rely. In this step, we can make sure the DK connects to the pc. Then, open the DTM app.

After selecting the DK, you will see the manual and functions are the same as the previous.
