&lt;p&gt;You don&amp;#39;t need to start&amp;nbsp;&lt;span&gt;advertising. After applying .ncs to the device, it will start advertising. You can use nRF Connect (mobile) to check it advertises as &amp;#39;Nordic_CTS&amp;#39; if you are using&amp;nbsp;&lt;code&gt;cts_central.ncs&lt;/code&gt;.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; you could use &amp;#39;server setup&amp;#39; tab to load the setup file *.ncs, I can too...&amp;nbsp; but you must use &amp;#39;connection map&amp;#39;&amp;nbsp; tab to start advertising, there is also one &amp;#39;advertising setup&amp;#39; item in conneciton map, but inside it, it can NOT load the *.ncs file. If we really want to make it start advertsing , we have to load the setup file in the &amp;#39;connection map&amp;#39;!!!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Sorry to misunderstand your question.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;.ncs is the nRF Connect Sever setup file. You should set up sever to load .ncs.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;If you are using the example like nRF5&amp;nbsp;&lt;a title="Current Time Application" href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/sdk_nrf5_v17.1.0/ble_sdk_app_cts_c.html?cp=8_1_4_2_2_7"&gt;Current Time Application&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;or &lt;a href="http://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/latest/nrf/samples/bluetooth/peripheral_cts_client/README.html"&gt;NCS Peripheral CTS client&lt;/a&gt;, the&amp;nbsp;&lt;span&gt;cts_central.ncs is under&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;code&gt;&amp;lt;nRF5 SDK&amp;gt;\examples\ble_peripheral\ble_app_cts_c&lt;/code&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;/ samples/bluetooth/peripheral_cts_client folder.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
