Thank you. I thought I would also try and provision the nRF9160DK, but seem to hit a snag here. I thought maybe it needed an antenna since it is not registering, but I have the 2 Thing's ready to play with for now

RE: cant upgrade firmware

Hi Marc,

My colleague has a sick leave and I will continue to help you with your issue.

The current DFU solution is quite solid and it is not so easy to brick thingy91 if you follow the guidance Updating firmware through USB.

If the MCUBOOT is really broken for some reason. You can reprogram MCUBOOT(also application FW) by following Updating firmware through external debug probe. In this case, you need a JLINK or nRF9160DK board.

If you do find a way that can repeatedly brick thing91, please provide more detailed information including HW and SW versions, error screenshots, and steps to trigger the issue. Thanks!

Best regards,

Upload reaches 100% then serial port closed followed by red screen with serial port closed error

RE: cant upgrade firmware

Hi Marc,

Sorry to hear you are getting halted. Hopefully, we will get the devices up and running again.

Please go through the these preparations, then continue to "updating the firmware" via the link at the bottom.

You might need to update the firmware through an external debug probe. Do you have access to any DK from Nordic, for example nRF9160 DK?

Let me know where/if you get stuck, and I will get back to you.

Best regards,
