The ble_app_uart peripheral example in the SDK acts as a "bridge" between a serial device and a wireless device, in that it receives data over serial and transports it wireless over BLE to the wireless device, and vice versa. It does not supports having two devices connected over serial without modifications.

The example starts advertising after the initialization routine at the start of main.c. It does not turn it off.

Yes, only one peripheral can drive any GPIO at a time. You need to debug your application, and see if the data is received correctly from the STM32 and if that data is sent with ble_nus_data_send() correctly.

1.After testing with ble_app_uart_pca10056_s113.hex(ble_uart_App for Nordic App ) then we connected 6 and 8 pins to STM 32 MCU, we are not seeing any message going to the STM nor coming from STM to nordic.

The messages are seen before we tap i.e till it reaches the pin..any configuration that needs to be done kindly guide us.

2.I also tried with examples/peripheral/UART/uart_pca10056.hex for the third party App..I could see only loop back test here..the nRF connect App could not recognise the BLE nor the third party App.Any idea what needs to be done.

we are more interested to get the integration with STM so that the flow is up in the UART between them.

Just to conclude what you have said

1 .If the Bluetooth terminal(PC based) --> use BLE central example and hex directly(change default pin to??)

BLE APP(Nordic App) --> use BLE_App_UART central example and hex directly(pin 6 and 8)

BLE App(Third party)-> use UART_PC_10056 example hex directly(PIN 6 and 8)

is this correct??

2. For flashing hex file use SEGGER for Nordic once we are done with external devices connection ..Any other flash tool kindly suggest

3.I have just integrated UART of STM and also connected to development board..and I am sending some characters from STM but in my App I am always getting ifconfig;echo__END_:$? ..does this mean anything??..these are not my intended characters.

I am sending in a while loop..how do you check in continuous flow of characters in APP nRF connect??

Let me know..thanks

Bluetooth connected(terminal)<--(BLE)------ BLE nordic<--(UART)<-----STM(Tx from STM)
In this case you'll need to implement the central part on the PC side. The STM will communicate over UART so no need for it to implement the BLE central part. You also need to change the UART pins from the default pin 6 and pin 8.

STM is a third party MCU, which we do not support.
Also I have one more question...How do we program Nordic BLE chip in our custom board..is this using development board nRF52840..if so how??..any other flash tool..if so which are all the pins from the BLE chip to be brought out to flash..kindly help on this.
Thanks for your response.

current requirement is the STM (STMicro) board will communicate to Nordic using UART and Viceversa connected to pin 6 and 8.we need to create a hex file so that Nordic receives and Transmits whatever comes to BLE .

Bluetooth connected(terminal)--(BLE)------> BLE nordic--(UART)---->STM(Rx to STM)

Bluetooth connected(terminal)<--(BLE)------ BLE nordic<--(UART)<-----STM(Tx from STM)

These are our intended targets as of now.

so can I use \\nRF5_SDK_17.0.2_d674dde\examples\ble_central\ble_app_uart_c where I can open in SEGGER embedded studio and create an hex file??

or can Use directly ble_app_uart_c_pca10056_s140.hex file in hex folder??..let me know.

Rest of the things I will change and let you know..thanks
currently I am using nRF52840 development board connected through UART to our custom board .

I used nRF connect APP to test the Bluetooth and was successful in sending data.

1.My question was can we use the same to test using 3rd party App such as Bluetooth terminal??,
I'm guessing that you're using the ble_app_uart example and not the purely UART hardware example? The ble_app_uart peripheral example implements the NUS service which is a proprietary BLE service from Nordicsemi. This means that this service will not work with third party apps unless they are configured specifically for the NUS service as in the NUS central example.
2. Also cuurently I am using SEGGER embedded studio where I am running Baremetal code to run the hex file.

Is there any other flash tool which we can use ??
The SDK has support for Keil µVision, IAR, GCC
3. How do I change the UART speed from 115200 to 9600 ..there is #define should I just use this??
See uart_init()
4. The development board UART was connected to my USB and this worked fine, to connect to our custom board..Do I need to connect to pin number 6 and 8 to UART of the custom board.??also to change pins should I change in pCA10056.h file ???
Not sure I understand this question. The ble_app_uart example receives data over BLE and sends it on UART pins 6 and 8, which is physically connected to the interface chip on the PCB. The fw on the interface chips sends the data from the UART to whatever that is connected on the USB port. You can change the pins that are used for the ble_app_uart module by changing rx_pin_no and tx_pin_no in uart_init(), see the image above.
