 I was wondering if it was possible to notify the application layer if the central device is scanning and it (the central device) sends a scan request to an advertising device?

&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/com.nordic.infocenter.s132.api.v7.3.0/group___b_l_e___g_a_p___s_c_a_n___m_s_c___l_e_g_a_c_y.html"&gt;The sd_ble_gap_scan_start() function will return NRF_SUCCESS when it initiates scanning, but no event will be generated when the scanning request is sent to the peripheral. However, a BLE_GAP_EVT_ADV_REPORT will be generated at the central when the advertising report is returned from the peripheral to the central.&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
