Your JLink version is farily old. Can you please try to update this as well? If this does not help, please register a new ticket for your issue. This way we can track it to see how many fail with v3.9.3

I'm facing the same issue with the current Programmer v2.1.1 and nRF Connect 3.9.3

However, using the manual method with nrfutil works fine.
Possibly because that uses an older version of nrfjprog (10.12.1) that I installed system wide.

adamfowleruk, what version of nrfjprog are you running? Please run nrfjprog --version in command prompt.

I can confirm nrfutil cannot communicate over the COM port either. TImes out apparently.

I also note that this version of Programme (2.0.1) programmes nrf52832dk, nrf52840dk successfully, but can neither read, reset, or programme the nrf5340DK. It also doesn't allow you to specify both hex files on nrf5340dk.

It would appear there's something very wrong with this version of the programmer software, or the USB drivers this version installs on the system. Given that I cannot downgrade this app, what are the suggestions here?

I'm experiencing the same issue with the MakerDiary nrf52840 USB dongle on Windows 10 with programmer 2.0.1. Previous programmer versions worked fine - it's purely this version. It's also very slow at detecting devices once plugged in. My dongle is here, and it's attached in DFU mode: https://wiki.makerdiary.com/nrf52840-mdk-usb-dongle/programming/

I'm going to try nrfutil now.

Have you seen our nRF52480 Dongle Programming Tutorial blogpost and the Programming an example using nrfutil chapter? Can you please try with nrfutil?

The nrf52840-dongle loads fine (my user is member of dialout):

crw-rw----+ 1 root dialout 166, 0 21. Dez 15:09 /dev/ttyACM0

In my screen shot the dongle is displayed with its MAC address and "Unknown".

Currently, I have flashed the .hex on my nrf52840-DK board to be able to use Wireshark.
Nicer would be, to use an nrf52840-dongle...
