is there any way to connect additional sensors using SPI or I2C to the thingy:91?
From the schematics I see test points on the PCB that allow access to the SPI signals but how would I create a durable connection with this?
You can use the Thingy:91 for this, yes, but as I mentioned before it is not that easy. We have the nrf9160 DK that can be used to interface sensors much more easily.

Kind Regards,

thanks you for the information, I have somehow overlooked the I2C testpoints.

I have a set of custom VOC sensors that have SPI and I2C interfaces that I would like to integrate with nrf9160.

Creating a custom PCB does not make sense at the moment. I thought I could use the thingy:91 as prototyping platform. I could build some kind of test rig with pogo pins to connect to the test points but I'm not sure this is worth the effort.

I'll probably look for an alternative board.

RE: SPI and I2C pins on the thingy:91

Hi Andre,

It is possible to connect external sensors to Thingy:91, but the Thingy is not designed to be easy to interface. Could you let me know what you intend to achieve.? You can take a look at this Devzone ticket. Using the test points is the way to go. TP9 and TP10 is I2C.
