Hi,

In order to ensure that SDK is configured properly, could you please provide a screenshot of the Quick Setup page?

In addition, after error happens, could you please provide an output of "nRF Connnect: Generate support information" command?

Hi Andrea,

You would need to click on "Click to create one" and continue from there. In the "Add Build Configuration" page which opens next, choose the board type you have and press "Build Configuration".

Running "west init" wouldn't rely on the SDK I've previously installed in the system but clones a new one. I can setup the sdk and the toolchain manually but that's not what Nordic seems to recommend...

Hi Dejan,

I don't type any command in VS Code. If you check the third screenshot I simply click on the left where it says "No build configurations Click to create one".

Could you please share the exact command you are giving in VS Code?
Can you build your application using nRF Connect extension within VS Code?

I encountered this problem as well and found that by opening a zsh terminal window within VS Code, and cd into my project directory and running "west init" and then "west update" I was then able to successfully create the build configuration.

Why the Nordic toolchain setup doesn't automate this is a bit of a mystery to me, but for now it works for me.

Hi Dejan,

This is not a problem with west per se. I'm clicking in the VS code UI. I forgot to mention it's a Freestanding application and I've selected toolchain and sdk in the UI. I don't have control over where west build is invoked. Please look at the screenshots below:

Hi Andrea,

Based on Zephyr documentation, build command is west extension. If build command is not recognized, in order for it to be visible, ensure that you are running "west build" inside your NCS folder.
