I took your code and removed what is in main, to not have to struggle with that.

Then I changed it to look more like tests/modules/mcuboot/external_flash.
Now it builds.

Please check that the project still does what you want it to, as I made changes.

Unfortunately no, I've reviewed all of that and have not found a resolution to my issue. I've built a new workspace project with 1.8 and I still get an error for an undefined 'PM_MCUBOOT_SECONDARY_ID'. I've attached the project, can you see what I'm doing wrong?

For instructions on how to store the storage partition for the secondary slot in the external flash memory, see Using external flash memory partitions(v1.7.1).

Keep in mind that this changes somewhat in v1.8.0. See Using external flash memory partitions(v1.8.0).
