&lt;p&gt;Given that pulling the nRESET pin high makes the nRF9160 run, it can indicate a short or something pulling the pin low.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Have you checked the current consumption of the nRF? When both pulling nRESET to VDD, and when leaving the pin unconnected.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;What is the VDD provided to the nRF9160?&lt;/p&gt;

Could you check the voltage on the ENABLE pin to see if this is set high?&lt;/p&gt;
