Hi,

This issue is not caused because of the upgrading to the Programmer app, but because of updating the Launcher(nRF Connect for Desktop) above 3.8. We are working on fixing this issue and for the time being you could try downgrading to the v3.7.1 as follows:

Download the latest 3.7 version of nRF Connect for Desktop from https://www.nordicsemi.com/Products/Development-tools/nRF-Connect-for-desktop/Download?lang=en#infotabs (for macOS this is 3.7.2, for Windows and Linux 3.7.1, because 3.7.2 was not needed and not released for these).
After starting nRF Connect for Desktop 3.7 a prompt will come up about the 3.8 upgrade. Click “No” on this.
In the Settings, click on “Add source”, enter the URL http://developer.nordicsemi.com/.pc-tools/nrfconnect-apps/3.7-apps/apps.json and click “Add”.
Back in the list of all apps, all apps should show up twice now, one with “official” below them and one with “3.7 compatible apps” below them. If you want to hide the incompatible versions, click on “Filter” and deselect “Official”.

Then use Programmer v1.4 which should hopefully list these debuggers properly.

I can see that you are using a J-Link version 6.88. Could you try upgrading o v7.20 or above and then try again?

I am working with a client and it appears we are having a similar issue. I have a similar setup to them (the only real differences are different dev kits, computers, and target hardware).

We are trying to utilize Programmer v2.2.0, and they have J-Link v7.60 installed. We are trying to use a nRF52840 DK to program one of the nRF52840 Featherwing Express from Adafruit.

Sometimes when they plug their device in, the programmer recognizes the name as "J-Link". This leads to an error, "Unsupported device. The detected device could not be recognized as either Jlink device nor Nordic USB device."

Other times the programmer recognizes it as a "nRF52840 DK". In the second instance, they receive an error "Failed to load readback protection status: INTERNAL_ERROR". This appears to happen whether the device is plugged into a target or not.
